Game 2 of the Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers at the TD Garden had a surprise visitor and it lit up the arena to some loud cheering.
A drone by TNT made flew over the arena in close proximity to the players. Presumably used to lend a better perspective of the game, the drone buzzed around for a bit in the first few minutes of the game and could be seen live on TV.
This garnered mixed responses from fans, but there was no doubt that it was one of the more unique things one can see during the game.

That said, the footage from the drone was visibly poor, per The Sporting News. The outlet also added that the drone came in as a bit of a distraction to some of the viewers who voiced their displeasure on social media.
NBA Fans React To TNT’s Drone Appearance
As incredible a sight it was to see a drone on the arena — an example of how technology has evolved and the NBA is using it to further heighten viewing experiences, not all fans took to it kindly.
One fan had a rather interesting thought.

How’s this for an idea?
We are one step closer to my idea of having drones drop every jump ball from the sky https://t.co/2WG2WZIufB

One segment of fans found it pretty annoying.
This was the most annoying thing ever, don't bring it back … @NBA https://t.co/1Ys3qjMItQ

That said, it is a pretty neat initiative to have drones being used in the NBA, as long as they don’t interrupt the play, or cause harm to the players or the audience.
On the game front, the Celtics bounced back admirably with a 121-87 win over the Sixers to even the scoreline. Joel Embiid’s return from injury for Game 2 didn’t help the Sixers as they were outclassed by Boston.
Now, the action shifts to Philadelphia, where Embiid and James Harden will hope to shift the tide in their favor. Safe to say, an interesting matchup is on the cards.
