It has not been an easy offseason for Jaylen Brown. After being one of the best players for the Celtics during their NBA Finals loss to the Golden State Warriors, Brown had to deal with hearing his name in trade rumors for Kevin Durant all summer long. Brown even tweeted out his disappointment with the situation and chose to focus on basketball instead of getting lost in the trade chatter.

Ultimately, the Celtics didn’t pull the trigger on the deal due to the Nets also asking for Marcus Smart in a deal for Durant. Brown will return to the Celtics next season as the 32 option behind Jayson Tatum, a role in which he has excelled and over-delivered for the last few seasons.

As Tatum is being crowned the savior of the Celtics and the next superstar coming from the team, Brown is focusing on letting his play do the talking. For the same, Brown was in the gym recently and practicing how to be a better long-distance shooter ahead of the start of training camp.

Will Jaylen Brown Be Upset With The Boston Celtics?

The trade rumors that saw Brown go to the Nets for Kevin Durant were extremely plausible and it seemed likely to happen if the Nets moved off their extremely high asking price.

The fact that the Celtics were going to extreme lengths to protect Marcus Smart instead of Brown could be a sign for the player signed to Kanye West that the Celtics don’t value him as highly. Anyone who saw Boston play in the postseason knows the value that Brown brought to the team and his contributions were crucial to their success. A lot of teams would love to have a player like JB on their roster.

Ime Udoka is a wonderful coach and will probably realign Brown to commit to the team despite everything that happened for next season. Marcus Smart has already come out and said JB has moved on, so the Celtics should look like a dangerous team come October.
