In the league today, we often see stars working out together. That is due to the friendly nature of the league, and we often hear the phrase “The NBA is a brotherhood”.

Recently, Russell Westbrook was spotted working out with Paul George and Victor Oladipo, both of whom were his teammates on the Oklahoma City Thunder. Victor Oladipo was notably traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder alongside Domantas Sabonis for Paul George in 2017.

There is no doubt that all three players will be returning to competitive teams ahead of next season. Paul George will be the No. 2 option behind Kawhi Leonard on the Los Angeles Clippers next year, and the two superstars will attempt to win a championship together. Victor Oladipo signed a new deal with the Miami Heat in the offseason, and he’ll likely be playing a supplementary role on the team as a presence off the bench. Russell Westbrook will be returning to the Los Angeles Lakers bar a potential trade. He will likely be playing in a new role, and new head coach Darvin Ham suggested that he wants Russell Westbrook to get back to being elite defensively.

“We talked in our conversations and the biggest word we used was ‘sacrifice and everything else is gonna flow from there… I want him to set a tone defensively for our team. Just get back to guarding, guarding, guarding… I want him to get back to guarding at a championship level.”

Defense is extremely important when it comes to winning championships and we’ll see if Russell Westbrook manages to improve defensively after this summer. He has never made an All-Defensive team, and that could be a goal for him next season.

Hopefully, we see all three players thrive next season. It is clear that Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Victor Oladipo are putting in the work this offseason, and we’ll see if it helps them improve their performance in the future.
