With just two wins to go until the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors are enjoying prosperity once again after years of struggle.

While many people have contributed to the Warriors’ resurgence, head coach Steve Kerr knows that Steph Curry is the one who is most to thank for their success. In a chat with the media after the Game 2 win, he had a lot to say about the star point guard and his place in the history books:

“There’s a reason our team has won championships…Steph, Klay, Draymond, and Loon have done this before. But Steph in particular is one of the great players of all time. This is what greats do.”

Curry, 34, just finished his 12th season in the league, and it ranks up with some of his best. His performance in these playoffs, however, has been even more impressive. Curry has averaged 26.8 points, 5.5 assists, and 5.1 rebounds in 13 games in the 2022 playoffs, including a 32-point explosion on Friday night.

On the court, he has nothing left to prove. Off the court, he’s an excellent role model and just an all-around nice human being:

“If you don’t like Steph Curry, then you’re just a hater,” said former NBA veteran Matt Barnes. “What can you really not like about him? He’s himself. He plays the game the right way. He plays the game the right way. He’s selfless. Rarely, in this day and age, these selfless superstars. He’s a selfless superstar. I think it’d be huge if they’re able to get it. It’s no lie this team is getting older.”

As an 8x All-Star, 2x Scoring Champ, 2x MVP, and 3x Champion, Curry is already one of the greatest and most accomplished players ever. He’s done more in his career than most of his competitors can even dream about.

But he’s not done yet. If he wins this year, it’ll be another title (and maybe a Finals MVP) added to his resume. If not, you can bet he and his team will be right back in the thick of things next season.
