The Chicago Bulls have received terrible news regarding one of their best players. Shooting guard Zach LaVine has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocol, meaning he’ll miss one or two games for his team.

This is horrible for the six-time NBA champions, as the Milwaukee Bucks have shown an incredible level during their first-round showdown. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday, and even Grayson Allen have been a nightmare for the Bulls, who currently trail the Bucks 3-1 ahead of Game 5 in Milwaukee.

Having LaVine sidelined is the last thing they wanted now, but things work in crazy ways in the NBA, especially now that there’s still a pandemic around. Shams Charania of The Athletic reports the big blow for the Bulls.

Of course, this means he’ll miss Game 5 at Fiserv Forum tomorrow night. If the Bulls manage to survive that game, perhaps LaVine could return and help them get past the defending NBA champions, but that seems pretty difficult right now.

The Bulls surprised a lot of people this campaign, becoming one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference at some point. Now they’re struggling to beat Antetokounmpo and co., and without LaVine on the court, the job looks even harder for DeMar DeRozan, Alex Caruso and Billy Donovan.
