The Chicago Bulls have a 19-24 record, and while that is just half a game out of the final play-in spot in the Eastern Conference, it’s safe to say that the team won’t be achieving much this season. The Bulls still have the likes of DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic on the roster, but injuries and poor form have seen them struggle a lot to start the season.

Lonzo Ball is on the road to recovery and Alex Caruso is back for the team, but beyond a play-in spot, it’s hard to see the Bulls achieving much. Zach LaVine, the main star in Chicago for a few years now, has been linked with trades away. LaVine reportedly has fans in the Dallas Mavericks front office, while the links to the Lakers never stopped. And his recent cryptic comments are sure to confuse fans and the franchise itself.

“At very end of postgame interview, Zach LaVine responded, ‘You drive the ball when you can’t shoot, that’s what happens when you have a torn ligament.’ LaVine played after being listed as probable with a right hand contusion. He doesn’t have a torn ligament, the team confirmed.

“LaVine made this comment at the very end in response to a question about 15 free-throw attempts. The interview was already breaking up and ending. By all indications so far, it was more of an offhand comment.”

If LaVine truly has issues with his ligament, it’s highly unlikely that the Bulls would play him. They have shown with the Lonzo Ball situation that they are willing to wait for their stars to get back to full fitness, no matter how long it takes. The situation seems very complex though, there have been reports of a strained relationship between the star and his team.

Zach LaVine Has Some Issues With Coach Billy Donovan Over A Benching Situation Earlier In The Season

The dysfunction within the Chicago Bulls is much deeper than it appears to be on the surface, and there were reports of LaVine having some issues with Head Coach Billy Donovan earlier in the year.

“According to a source, while the LaVine-Billy Donovan player-coach relationship is still very workable it remains somewhat strained in the wake of a Nov. 18, late-game benching in which Donovan chose to ride out the final minutes against Orlando with LaVine out of the game.”

Zach LaVine no longer being a Chicago Bull seems more and more like a possibility as we get closer to the trade deadline. Many teams across the league could use him and if the situation is as bad as it seems, then they might even be able to land him without giving up too much.
