Entering his sophomore season, Zion Williamson was juggling major expectations as the former No. 1 pick and face of the New Orleans Pelicans.
And while Zion’s performance has been pretty solid all year, the Pelicans fell way short of the mark, finishing with a record of 31-41, good enough for just 11th in the West.
Upon reflection of the season, Williamson told reporters part of his plan to bounce back — which involves working with his partner-in-crime to maximize their potential.
“At the end of the day, me and Brandon both share the same goals – winning. Me and Brandon are going to get together a lot this offseason and talk about what we need to do and work out together. Like I said, the reality is we want to win. We have to put in the work.”

After so much hype surrounding Zion and the Pelicans, it’s hard not to classify this season as a failure for them.
They played inconsistent basketball all year long and were unable to capitalize on their talented roster.
In the end, it’s up to Zion (as the team leader) to work on a solution and lead his team to better days. Hopefully, this summer will be a turning point.
