Skip Bayless: ‘Kevin Durant Won Back-To-Back MVPs Right In LeBron’s Face’

2 Min Read

Skip Bayless is hopeful the Brooklyn Nets can do a good job once they get Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant back next season. The Nets are currently the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference, hoping to have a good performance once the NBA season resumes next July 31.

Bayless once again made one of his famous rants about LeBron James, taking shots at the Los Angeles Lakers star, always making the case for other players he considers are better than the King. During Wednesday edition of FS1’s Undisputed, he mentioned KD and the chances the forward has to take the reins of the East with the Nets.

Bayless recalled how Durant won back-to-back Finals MVP awards against Bron, dominating his Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017 and 2018.

“What if KD turns back into the MVP of the NBA Finals? He won back-to-back MVPs right in LeBron’s face, in LeBron’s house in Game 3’s. Last year it looked like he was on his way to maybe winning a 3rd-straight MVP. He was turning the whole series around before the Achilles snapped. What if he comes back and says, ‘hey, watch this, I’m 100% healthy, watch this?'” he said.

Durant spent the last three years of his career with the Golden State Warriors, winning two titles in three Finals. As Bayless said, when he played in the 2019 Finals, things were going good for the Dubs, but KD went down with an ACL injury.

His relationship with the Warriors was tumultuous, to say the least, and now he’s trying to take the Nets to the promised land, trying to prove his doubters wrong and demonstrating he can win without Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
