Isiah Thomas Says It Is A Fact That He Was Better Than Michael Jordan And That He Dominated Him

2 Min Read

Isiah Thomas has been pretty outspoken against Michael Jordan since the release of “The Last Dance” documentary in April. In the past few months, he has denied Jordan’s GOAT claims and has made countless arguments to discredit Jordan’s Hall-of-Fame career.

Thomas took another jab at Jordan on Sunday morning, sharing a Tweet as fact from one fan who pointed out how Thomas was actually dominant over the Bulls superstar in their playing days.

This isn’t the first time Thomas has claimed to be superior to MJ — and, to many, it’s indicative of just how much he doesn’t like him.

But, to I.T.’s credit, he has fared pretty well against Jordan in the past. He went 3-0 against him in the playoffs from 1985-1990, and averaged 21.1 points and 9.4 assists per game. His team, the Detroit Pistons, won two Championships during that period. Clearly, Thomas and the “Bad Boys” earned some bragging rights for what they were able to accomplish during MJ’s early basketball career.

Of course, Jordan would turn the tables in the years following. In fact, after 1990, the Chicago legend would lead the Bulls to unprecedented success. By the time he retired in ’98, the world-renowned star had won 6 titles and 5 MVPs, far surpassing Thomas.

Jordan also edges out his Pistons rival in almost every statistical category including points, rebounds, steals, and blocks.

So, while the Pistons can say they beat the “GOAT” several times in the late 1980s, it didn’t take Mr. Jordan very long to bounce back and –today — it’s a hot take to say any basketball player goes above him on the All-Time scale.

And, yes, that includes Isiah Thomas.
