Bleacher Report’s Epic Post: ‘LaVar Might Really Have To Play MJ 1-On-1 If The Hornets Draft LaMelo’

Even though he’s been flying under the radar lately, people still always talk about every single thing LaVar Ball says. He’s outspoken – maybe too much – and a trash-talker, but people don’t really take him seriously.

Ball has had his fair share of bold takes throughout the years. In fact, his big mouth is one of the main reasons why some people weren’t rooting for Lonzo Ball and even wanted him to underperform, just to see if his father would eventually shut up.

And now that the younger son of the Ball household is about to walk his first steps in the NBA, Bleacher Report brought back a hilarious story that could once again backfire for LaVar.

For those who need context, LaVar Ball once said that he could beat Michael Jordan one-on-one. Jordan is now the owner of the Charlotte Hornets, the team entitled to the 3rd overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft and that could get LaMelo Ball:

“I would just back (Jordan) in and lift him off the ground and call a foul every time he fouls me when I do a jump hook to the right or the left. He cannot stop me one-on-one. He better make every shot ’cause he can’t go around me. He’s not fast enough. And he can only make so many shots outside before I make every bucket under the rim,” LaVar said.

Jordan, being as competitive as he is, didn’t shy away from those controversial remarks and reminded everybody why he’s the GOAT of trash-talkers as well, saying LaVar couldn’t beat him even if he was one-legged:

“You got to understand the source. I think he played college, maybe? He averaged 2.2 points a game. Really? It doesn’t deserve a response, but I’ma give it to you because you asked the question. I don’t think he could beat me if I was one-legged,” Jordan replied.

So, if LaMelo winds up in North Carolina, perhaps LaVar will have the shot to make a run for his money and challenge the GOAT to a one-on-one matchup. If just hope that, should this happen, we get to watch it. I don’t care how much money it costs.
