“At 36-Years-Old, LeBron James Is A Better Defender Than Kawhi Leonard,” Says Kendrick Perkins

After 17 seasons in the NBA, LeBron James has built himself an illustrious legacy. As a 16x All-Star, 16x All-NBA player, and 4x NBA Champion, his resume is truly unmatched by anyone in league history.

Amazingly, he’s still not done adding to it. James, who turned 36 in December, is amid one of the best seasons of his career — and ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins says he’s at his best. In an appearance on First Take, Perk laid out what James is currently doing and how his offense, and defense, are at an All-Time high.

“LeBron has aged and seasoned like wine. He’s facilitating, scoring and defending collectively at a level he’s NEVER done in his entire career, so when I say he’s front runner for MVP, you better believe it. This is LeBron at his best.”

This season, James is averaging 25.6 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists on 49.7% shooting. His defense, playmaking, and long-distance shooting are the best they’ve ever been.

As for the Lakers, James’ leadership has them right back in the title chase. They’re 19-6 through the first 25 games, sitting second in the West.

Love him or hate him, you can’t deny what LeBron has been able to do at this stage of his career is impressive.
