NBA Rumors: Dallas Mavericks Want To Trade Kristaps Porzingis To Golden State Warriors

2 Min Read

The Dallas Mavericks appears to be better off without Kristaps Porzingis, believed to be their second-best player, but now he could look for a new challenge in the league. The Latvian player was expected to create a very good association with Luka Doncic in Dallas but so far they have been unable to do so.

This season, we could see a lot of unexpected changes and it seems like Porzingis’ could be one of those. According to Ian Begley of SNY, the Mavericks have reached out to the Golden State Warriors to study their interest in the big man. In the case this happens, the Warriors would become Porzingis’ third team in the league after playing for the New York Knicks before landing in Dallas.

The Dallas Mavericks have reached out to the Golden State Warriors to gauge interest in a Kristaps Porzingis trade, sources tell SNY’s Ian Begley.

Porzingis, 25, has had an up-and-down tenure in Dallas, showing flashes of offensive brilliance but dealing with injury issues and questions about his defense.

He is in the second season of a five-year deal worth $158.2 million.

This would be a very good addition for the Dubs if Porzingis remains healthy. They need some height on the floor and with James Wiseman and Kevon Looney getting injured in recent days, the addition of Kristaps would be very good for them.

Still, we need to wait and see what’s the Mavs’ asking price for the ‘Unicorn’ and if the Warriors are willing to pay that to bring one of the best European players in the league in recent times.
