LeBron James Confirms He Wants To Play With Bronny James In The NBA: “That’s Definitely One Of My Goals, But That’s A Long-Term Goal.”

3 Min Read

One of the most admirable aspects of LeBron James’ career is his longevity. He has always focused on staying sharp to face any challenge in front of him and that has really paid off for the 4x NBA champion.

He’s looking to take the Los Angeles Lakers to the promised land again this season, at age 36 and playing his 18th season in the association. Bron is doing incredible things right now, recording the best 18th season in league history and he doesn’t seem to be stopping there. In fact, he still has goals to reach and if he keeps doing things this way, that won’t be a problem for him.

One of the biggest things he could do in the next couple of seasons is to emulate what big athletes like Ken Griffey and Ken Griffey Jr. did, play with his son in the NBA. This has been a recurrent topic for LeBron for about three or four years now. The four-time MVP winner can keep playing until his 40s and actually team up with his son, and he recently revealed he wants to do that but it’s still a long-term goal.

“That’s definitely one of my goals, but that’s a long-term goal. My son right now is in high school and enjoying what being a teenager is all about. But that would be pretty cool to go on my resume.”

Right now, Bronny James is 16 and he’s seen as one of the 30 best prospects of his draft class. LeBron signed a two-year extension with the Lakers in the offseason, which will keep him attached to the purple and gold through 2023. That would leave the door open for him to remain with the Lakers if they sign Bronny or go look to sign a new deal with any other team in the league.

The Oklahoma City Thunder could be another destination for this father-son duo and whichever team gets them, would make history in the league. Seeing LeBron’s level right now, they would also get a very good young player and a reliable veteran. As LeBron said, this is a long-term goal and we have to wait and see if they can pull this off in the future.
