Stephen Curry When Asked If He ‘Pulled A Larry Bird’ By Reggie Miller: “You Just Walk Into The Locker Room And Got That Look.”

2 Min Read

Stephen Curry showcased all his talents during the 2021 All-Star Sunday, which ended up with a huge win of Team LeBron over Team Durant, 170-150. Steph had a great game, dropping 28 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists. He was considered an MVP candidate but Giannis Antetokounmpo won the award after going 16 on 16 from the field.

Curry still had a very good day and everything started with the 3-point contest, which he won after beating Mike Conley with the last shot of the final round. The Warriors superstar was extremely confident that he was going to win the competition and when Reggie Miller asked him if he was feeling like Larry Bird in 1988, the point guard revealed he went further than that, not even saying a word to his rivals.

Reggie: “Steph, did you pull a Larry Bird before the 3-point contest, walk into the rest of the competition & say ‘which one of y’all is shooting for 2nd? Be truthful.”

Steph: “Aye Reg, you know, sometimes you don’t even have to say it. You just walk into the locker room and got that look.”

That worked for Curry in the end, who looked very comfortable in the final round of the contest. He had to beat Mike Conley’s 27 points and did so with the last shot of the night, earning a dramatic win that gave him his second 3-Point Contest title.

He then went on to show off his range, making big triples with Damian Lillard, recording big play after big play in the first game he played alongside LeBron James in his career. What a magical Sunday for Curry, who could have won the MVP award, too, but Giannis did too much to win it.
