Shaquille O’Neal keeps demonstrating that he’s ruthless when he’s trolling somebody. The 4x NBA champion has mastered his art during his time on TNT’s “Inside the NBA” and on Sunday, he went off on former Houston Rockets star Kenny Smith and his chances to be an All-Star during his active days.
Kenny never was able to play in the big game but he felt he was really close to doing so in one season but the competition was really hard for him. During Sunday’s show, ‘The Jet’ reflected on that, saying it was one of the things he most regretted in his career. He didn’t expect Shaq to come at him like that but the 15-time All-Star let him know he never stood a chance.
Kenny: “That’s my biggest regret. I’m like ‘man, I never made the All-Star game’. I was close one year, averaging 18/8 going into the All-Star break but Magic, Stockton, and Clyde Drexler were locked. They would only give one extra guard, every year it was only one spot for one guard “
Shaq: “Kenny you’re one of my best friends but you never had a chance. Never ever. Never ever ever ever. Kenny, I love you but you never had a chance. Come on, Kenny. Stop it,” Shaq said while the crew just laughed.
Smith finished his career as a two-time NBA champion but he never made it to the All-Star Game. He had big names in front of him and he probably would have needed to overcome Hakeem Olajuwon as the biggest figures of the Rockets to make the leap and earn that All-Star call.
That never happened and he had plenty of joys during his career but never was invited to the ASG. Shaq took advantage of that and really roasted him, making it very clear that he could have never made it.
