Kevin Durant isn’t somebody who hides after people try to bring him down. He has engaged in brutal battles with fans, athletes but especially media members. The Brooklyn Nets superstar is having a very good season after returning from an ACL injury and even though he’s missed a couple of games in recent times, KD is playing like he never left.

Off the court, he’s also making big moves and letting people know he’s not one to mess with. Over the past year, Durant has engaged in big battles with media members and he seems to win any of them. The last example of KD going at it with a media member came when Shannon Sharpe accused him of saying things about LeBron James with a fake quote, which obviously didn’t sit well with the player, who went off on Sharpe.

In the end, KD came out victorious, scoring another symbolic win to his Twitter battles. One NBA fan recalled all the times Durant did this, stating that he’s winning his battle with the media.

KD has made Kendrick Perkins cry on TV, make Michael Rapaport call his lawyer, made Stephen A Smith apologize to his mother, and blasted Shannon Sharpe for bad journalism…. he's winning the battle vs the media by a landslide

The first time this happened was in 2017 when Stephen A. Smith called him out for joining the Golden State Warriors. After the player won his first NBA championship, his mother went to ESPN’s First Take, where Stephen A. apologized to her.

“I just think that Kevin has a certain talent, and it shouldn’t be watered down by anybody, or where he plays,” Durant said. ” … I don’t think it’s fair to minimize what Kevin offers Golden State, and what they offered him, to say that it was the weakest move in NBA history.”

“I think you’re wrong, you’re too harsh.”

That led the controversial analyst to say he was sorry.

“For you — I’m sorry,” he said.

Last year, it was Kendrick Perkins who tried to bring the 2x NBA champion down and Durant didn’t hold back, calling him a ‘sellout’. Perk appeared on live TV, holding back tears while addressing his relationship with Durant and how close they were at some point.

At the end of March, actor and comedian Michael Rapaport was the one who tried to bully the former Golden State Warrior and when KD replied, the former showed the messages and called his lawyer, a move that was heavily criticized around the NBA community.

As stated above, the most recent case happened when Sharped took a couple of shots at KD believing that a fake quote was actually real. The player called Sharpe ‘drunk’ and when the former NFL player blocked him on Twitter, KD reloaded and went off on him.

In the end, Sharpe had to tell him they could fix their differences out of social media, unblocking Durant and showing he was wrong with his claims. This was a very short but heated saga that saw KD coming out victorious again. The player has done and said a lot of big things in recent times and fans have realized that when you try to mess with this guy, he’ll make you pay for that.
