5 Most Exciting Matchups Everyone Wants To Watch In The NBA Playoffs

The NBA playoffs are just about to start and even though we can’t predict what’s going to happen in the ultimate stage of basketball, there are a lot of things we would definitely love to see when the time comes.

Contents
  • 5. Cleveland Cavaliers – Toronto Raptors
  • 4. Golden State Warriors – Oklahoma City Thunder
  • 3. Philadelphia 76ers – Cleveland Cavaliers
  • 2. Houston Rockets – Oklahoma City Thunder
  • 1. Houston Rockets – Golden State Warriors

Even though not all of this series we’re about to mention are going to happen, we’re going to let you know about the top 5 playoffs series every single NBA fan in the world would love to see go to 7 games.

5. Cleveland Cavaliers – Toronto Raptors

The Cleveland Cavaliers caught a major break with the Boston Celtics getting banged up towards the end of the season, so LeBron James is once again a clear candidate to make it all the way to the NBA finals for the 7th straight season.

The Raptors, nonetheless, are the team to beat in the Eastern Conference, and they have to prove they got what it takes when it matters the most, as they’re known for their constant choking, especially when King James is on the other side of the court.

There’s already a fierce rivalry growing up in here, so it would be delightful to see them go at it, with the Raptors owning home court advantage.

4. Golden State Warriors – Oklahoma City Thunder

The Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder hate each other’s guts, and with the season series tied at 2 apiece, there’s no clear favorite to take home this series, especially if they clash during the first round of the playoffs with Stephen Curry sidelined with an ankle injury.

Moreover, the Thunder have played their best basketball against contending teams this season, so we definitely expect them to peak now during the playoffs after a lot of inconsistency. Also, getting to watch Kevin Durant go at it against Russell Westbrook for 7 straight games is something we will never forget for sure.

3. Philadelphia 76ers – Cleveland Cavaliers

The Philadelphia 76ers are the hottest team in the NBA right now, riding a 14 game winning streak and having a great shot at the 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference, something that would give them a very good chance to reach the ECF after missing the playoffs for more than 5 years while building the process.

Philadelphia already proved they can torch Cleveland even without standout big man Joel Embiid, while the Ben Simmons vs. LeBron James is a matchup for the ages. Furthermore, if the young Sixers want to convince James that he’ll be better off at Philly, this one will be the biggest chance they get to impress him.

2. Houston Rockets – Oklahoma City Thunder

The Houston Rockets have been by far the best team in basketball all year long, so they’re pretty much a lock to reach at least the Western Conference Finals for the first time in Chris Paul’s career, but they would likely have to beat Westbrook, Anthony and George in order to get that chance.

The Thunder has improved a lot in the defensive end of the floor upon Corey Brewer’s arrival, and they’re a turnover-forcing machine and much disciplined defenders that don’t usually fall for pump fakes and silly fouls, two things that might wind up hurting the Rockets chances a lot if they have to face each other.

1. Houston Rockets – Golden State Warriors

And obviously, the most expected playoff series has to be the Rockets against the Warriors, as Houston has finally found a way to dethrone the reigning Champions and secured home-court advantage all the way to the Finals, while Golden State doesn’t look like the unbeatable team they were the past 3 campaigns or so.

Golden State has struggled with a lot of injuries while the Rockets are fully healthy and perfectly built to match up against the Dubs with a lot of 3 and D players. Also, both Harden and Paul have to finally prove that they’re Championship material, and they finally need to step up, conquer the Western Conference and play in the NBA Finals.
