Stephen Curry has been in the news quite a lot lately, ahead of him inevitably breaking the all-time 3PT shots made record currently held by Ray Allen. Many thought that he’d be able to make 10 3PT shots during his recent matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers, but that simply hasn’t happened, as the 76ers won and Stephen Curry had a poor shooting night, only shooting 3-14 from beyond the arc.
Joel Embiid commented on the 76ers preventing Stephen Curry from breaking the all-time 3PT record in Philadelphia, claiming that “it wasn’t happening on my court” and adding that Philadelphia was his city.

Joel Embiid later complimented the efforts of Matisse Thybulle, who was the primary defender on Stephen Curry in the game. He even claimed that the young forward has a chance at the DPOY award.

It is clear that the 76ers knew that Stephen Curry would try to break the record, and it would have certainly been iconic to see him break it against his brother, Seth Curry. Alas, that didn’t end up happening.
With this win, the 76ers will move to a 15-12 record, and out of a play-in spot into the 6th seed. This was clearly an important victory for the team. The Philadelphia 76ers have managed to still be a playoff-caliber team even with Ben Simmons sitting out this year, for which they certainly should be commended. As of now, Joel Embiid is playing at an MVP level and leading the team well. Hopefully, that continues throughout the whole year, and the 76ers keep rising in the standings.
