Russell Westbrook and the Los Angeles Lakers recorded a big win over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. After a tumultuous start to the season, the purple and gold are seemingly getting things on the right track, winning games against dangerous rivals.

Coming off a controversial game against the Denver Nuggets on Monday, the Heat landed in Los Angeles trying to bounce back, but the Lakers fought hard and got the 120-117 win over the Floridian squad.

Russ finished the night with a triple-double, scoring 25 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and dishing 14 assists. It was a great game that needed OT to define the winner. Following the match, Westbrook reflected on his mindset and how he approached the end of the match.

He stated he was grateful to be part of this game, while praising his teammates for the effort they put to take the 7th win of the season. Moreover, when Malika Andrews asked Brodie about his mindset facing Bam Adebayo, a very physical player, the 2017 MVP said you have to do whatever it takes to win.

It’s good to see Russ catching a break after all the criticism he’s received in the past couple of weeks. The point guard didn’t have the best games and was heavily criticized for his turnovers and bad decisions in crunch time.

Now, he’s looking better and more comfortable with his new team, which means great news for Frank Vogel. In LeBron James’ absence, the Lakers rank 7th in the Western Conference, boasting a 7-5 record.

They haven’t had the best start to this season, but their situation improves every game. Russ is a big competitor and he won’t get down after a couple of bad games. He’s ready to fight back and show why the Lakers brought him home.
