The NBA 75 list that came out last week has caused a lot of controversy and discussion among fans and players alike. A lot of people have wondered why certain players got to be included on the list, and why some others were snubbed by the NBA.
Kyrie Irving, Dwight Howard, Klay Thompson, and Tracy McGrady are just some of the few players who many felt were snubbed from the list. On top of that, players like Damian Lillard and Anthony Davis had their inclusion on the list questioned, as they didn’t have the resume that many of the snubbed players did.
Klay Thompson has not taken kindly to being excluded from the list, calling out the NBA for snubbing him. And given Klay Thompson’s excellent resume in the NBA in such a short period of time, he does have a case for why he should have a place on the list.
One fan reacted on Instagram, commenting that Damian Lillard is not better than Klay Thompson ‘in his book’. Lillard responded to the fan on Instagram, saying that he should not be allowed to make these decisions, and the fan just seems to be really upset about Lillard’s inclusion on the list.
Fan: “Better than Klay? Not in my book.”
Lillard: “Apparently yo book isn’t qualified enough to make these decisions. You big mad.”
Thompson is a 3-time NBA champion, multiple-time NBA All-Star, and was a pivotal part of one of the greatest teams in NBA history. But given his placement next to Steph Curry, who took much of the plaudits for the Warriors’ success, his accomplishments are taken for granted.
While Lillard can’t match up to Thompson’s championship success, his numbers do suggest that he belongs on the list. Lillard is one of the best clutch shooters in NBA history.
Not only is he able to make big shots, but he is able to make them when it’s needed most. And that may be the biggest reason he got the advantage over Klay Thompson.
