The 2021-22 NBA season holds great significance for the league. The NBA has completed 75 glorious years and to celebrate that the league released an All-Time NBA 75 list.
It was released in three separate parts featuring a set of 25 players each time. Finally, the third set of players has also been unveiled that had the likes of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Anthony Davis, and Stephen Curry.
However, there are only so many players that can be part of this exclusive list. Therefore, many big names missed out on being part of the NBA 75 list. NBA Buzz posted an image on Facebook featuring the All-Snubbed team for ‘NBA 75.’
The starting 5 of the team were Kyrie Irving, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Grant Hill, and Dwight Howard.
Apart from the aforementioned players, these players can also be considered for being part of the All-Snubbed team: Alex English, Walt Bellamy, Adrian Dantley, Artis Gilmore, Chris Bosh, Bernard King, Chris Webber, Yao Ming, LaMarcus Aldridge, Penny Hardaway, Klay Thompson, Ben Wallace, Dikembe Mutombo, Pau Gasol, Paul George, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili.
NBA fans reacted to the list and most were surprised upon not seeing Dwight Howard make the cut.
Tal Yeadon: “Looking like the ALL INJURY TEAM.”
Chica Emery: “Ben Simmons will make the NBA 7500.”
Todd Webb: “I’d take all of them over Paul Pierce.”
Beshoy Kamel: “T-Mac, Vince, and Dwight Howard should’ve made the cut.”
Sherwin Riga: “They’re supposedly get earned to make it to that list, but they didn’t able to have themselves listed as recognized greatest players in the league. Klay should have deserved to be in that list as well as Kyrie, but to be honest, I would prefer Klay getting deserved for more over Kyrie because he’s already receiving recognition when he led the Warriors to an NBA Championship three times. The league should have put him if he’s good enough, but he got injured in the last two years. Hopefully, the league may recognize Klay into the list very soon if the league will about to celebrate their 100th anniversary.”
Jay Austin: “I would’ve picked all of them over Lillard.”
Dave Allen: “We’re talking all time. Not current. Klay is as delusional as Andre thinking Kyrie is top 20 all time.”
Hamu EJ: “I Remmember when Grant hill was the face of the nba and the closest to mj. Even after the injury he bounce back and draining perimeter shots. One of the best small forwards ive seen.”
Marcus Webster: “Tony Parker is far ahead of Kyrie Irving. He has the stats, the skills, and the accomplishments to be on this list for sure. Not sure why he isn’t thought of that much.”
Jerome King: “Kyrie is not a snub. What has he done?????? He has no all time great accolades No Mvp, scoring title, never led the league in scoring/asst/stl…NOTHING Just entertaining to watch. Never carried a team. He’s not a snub, he’s not deserving right now.”
Christopher Mcd: “Damn I swear there are 75 spots and countless great players, you can’t fit everybody!”
Emson Vergado: “Tmac and Carter deserves to be on that spot, GOAT dunker and pure scorer(13 points in 33secs). Klay needs more playing seasons to be included. He’s just in 8 active seasons 2011-2019 only. Wallace and Howard are debatable, multiple DPOY winners.”
Michael Dodds: “There are some current players that made top 75 that don’t deserve to be there compared to what some others that were snubbed have accomplished. 95% of their choices were correct.”
Red Izzle: “Chauncey billups & Tony parker deserves to be on the list.”
Justin Short: “Good arguments for Dwight and Tmac. If it were me and I only could pick one out of this list that deserved the top 75, I’d have to say Dwight. Been to 2 finals and has a ring. 3 time defensive player of the year. I don’t know how many rebound titles or block titles he had but in Orlando u could count on 25, 12, and 2 every night. Not only that but he reinvented himself later in his career and is the perfect backup center. No seriously, this might sound crazy like “who cares” but he is the best back up center in the entire league. Absolutely Dwight for me. Vince had longevity and the most athleticism but he doesn’t have many individual or team awards. Grant Hill was cut short due to injury and Kyrie is just not there. Sorry.”
These were some of the best reactions by fans upon seeing the ‘NBA 75’ list. The players mentioned are great, they arguably deserve to be part of it.
In fact, Klay Thompson even reacted to the list and shared his views on it through Instagram. On the other hand, Dwight Howard’s snub had fans fuming.
If someone tries to include every great player in a single list, it would take forever to make and even then some sections of the crowd won’t be satisfied.
