The Golden State Warriors Have Gone 3-0 For The First Time Since Their 73-9 Season

The Golden State Warriors have had an incredible start to the NBA season so far. Currently, the Lakers have started the season perfectly, going 3-0 in their first set of fixtures. But what makes it more impressive is the quality of opposition they have faced during that time.

The Lakers went to the Staples Center to play the Los Angeles Lakers and came out on top against the big three of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook. What makes it more impressive is that they won despite Steph Curry having what he described as a ‘trash’ performance.

Curry then helped the Warriors beat the LA Clippers, another championship contender over the last few years. Granted, they didn’t have Kawhi Leonard, but the Clippers have one of the deepest rosters in the NBA and have been considered title favorites over the last few years.

Unlike his showing against the Lakers, Curry was on fire against the Clippers, scoring 45 points. In fact, Curry even had the gumption to shoot a three from the logo in the closing moments after Paul George dared him, and made that shot look effortless.

And most recently, the Warriors trumped the Sacramento Kings. Fans expected Curry to have a slightly slower night, given how Kings’ rookie Davion Mitchell had guarded players similar to him in previous games. And he did have a slow night but was still able to score 27 points on the Kings to help the Warriors stay undefeated.

In what might be a sign of how good they can be, the Warriors have now gone 3-0 for the first time since their 2015-16 NBA season. Most Warriors fans will be thrilled with that, given that Golden State won a record 73 games that season, and reached the NBA Finals for the second year in a row.

Things can only get better for the Warriors going forward. The Dubs expect to have Klay Thompson and James Wiseman back before the end of 2021 and their current squad is actually deeper than the one they had in 2016. The core of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala is still well-intact.

If Klay comes back still resembling himself from before the injury, many expect the Warriors to reach the Western Conference Finals.

On top of that, Jordan Poole is putting up All-Star numbers and is a big contender for Most Improved Player this season. If things go right, we could see the resurgence of the Warriors’ Dynasty this season.
