Kevin Durant has been fantastic this season for the Brooklyn Nets. The 2014 MVP has started the season off strong, being one of the leading scorers in the league. Currently, he is averaging 27 points per game, the 4th best in the league right now.
But the number that has caught everyone’s eye is his efficiency. Durant is currently making 59.2% of his attempted shots, the best of his career. While Durant has always been an amazing scorer, his efficiency so far this season is better than it has ever been during his 13-year career in the NBA.
In fact, if Durant can keep up his points per game average and his efficiency, he will join LeBron James as the only non-big to average more than 25 points per game while making more than 55% of his shots during the course of a season in the last 35 years. LeBron James has been able to do this twice in his career.

Durant has been spectacular this season, putting up some of the best numbers of his career. After his 32-point performance against the Atlanta Hawks, Skip Bayless called him the best player in the NBA. And Bayless isn’t the only one who thinks that KD sits on top of the NBA mountain.
Durant has been ranked by many as the best player on the planet. JJ Redick believes that Durant’s miraculous return from his Achilles injury made him the best player in the league. Even Stephen A. Smith has called Durant the best player on the planet on numerous occasions over the last few seasons.
Durant being able to achieve this feat when it comes to his efficiency will only further his case for being one of the greatest scorers of all time. While there is still a lot of time left for the season to end, the way KD is playing suggests that he will be able to join LeBron in this exclusive club.
