We all know that Stephen Curry is one of the most electrifying players to ever live. But what most people don’t realize is that, besides his amazing talent, he’s also a hard worker.
You’d think that the greatest shooter in NBA history wouldn’t need that much practice to get his shot to fall.
Well, according to new teammate Otto Porter Jr, Curry is the greatest shooter of all time precisely because of that unmatched and relentless work ethic:
“It’s amazing to see his work ethic. A lot of people don’t get the chance to see that. He’s in the gym after hours, before, just putting up shots,” Porter said, as quoted by ClutchPoints.
Porter was amazed by the way Curry put in the hard work day in and day out, and he knows that having him around will provide plenty of value for younger players that look up to him:
“We’ve got young guys that are watching that, and they’re in the gym too. So, he’s being a leader on and off the court, just making sure that when we do get the ball, we’ve just got to knock down our shots with confidence,” he added.
Porter is expected to have a big role for the new-look Warriors next season. If his shot is falling, he’d be a major offensive factor, with a team insider even saying that they could have the best shooting trio in franchise history:
“If Porter, 28, is healthy, the Warriors will have the most dangerous trio of deep shooters they have had at any time in franchise history. And, no, we did not forget four-time scoring champ Kevin Durant,” read the report.
Obviously, Otto Porter Jr will never be on Kevin Durant’s level but still, his sharpshooting skills will come pretty handy for them.
And if his shot isn’t falling after some time off with an injury, maybe he can take a pointer or two from Curry. He knows where to find him: In the gym.
