After his second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James turned the next page in his career and joined the Los Angeles Lakers. The arrival of LBJ gave Lakers fans hope of finally winning an NBA championship.

LeBron did deliver on expectations as he led the purple and gold to an NBA title in the 2019-20 season. Following that amazing championship run, the franchise failed to repeat the same level of success last season due to its superstars not being completely healthy come playoff time.

Well, it appears that James wants to redeem last year’s failure by bringing the 18th NBA championship to the Los Angeles Lakers. During the offseason, the four-time MVP slimmed down to get in prime shape and, of course, will save himself from recurring injuries. Additionally, he also planned a minicamp for the team before the season to ensure he and his teammates get enough practice.

Now, LA Lakers legend Magic Johnson, who played a vital role in bringing James to LA, has revealed James’ goals for the upcoming season.

“LeBron James is in excellent physical condition, he is focused, and he is driven. His only goal this season is to win his 5th NBA Championship and the @Lakers 18th Championship. Everybody in the NBA should be worried because LeBron is on a mission!!”

You may love him or hate him, but you cannot deny one fact: LeBron James has insane longevity. He will be entering the 19th season of his career soon and is yet to show any major signs of decline.

Most NBA players either do not play in the league for this long or are simply a shell of their former selves at this age.

On the contrary, the L-Train is aging like a fine wine and as Magic tweeted is in insane physical condition.

Coupling that with the fabulous roster that the organization has built around him, the Lakers are one of the favorites to win the 2022 NBA title. Unlike most teams, the Lakers have decided to rely on veteran players rather than young stars to lead the team.

Whether this move will backfire or not will be revealed when the new season is underway.
