A month ago, Larry Nance Jr. was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in a three-team trade. The trade also featured Derrick Jones Jr. and Lauri Markkanen, who will be donning the jerseys of the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers, respectively.

Looking at the trade, the Bulls most probably had the best outcome as they received two picks as well. Anyway, today our focus is on Nance Jr. The former Cavs big was also a part of the Los Angeles Lakers a few seasons ago. But playing for arguably the best team in NBA history is not an easy task.

He was sent to the Cavs, and it appears that he is still a bit salty about it. Despite being traded from the Cavs, he has no bad message for them, but for the Lakers. NBA analyst Evan Dammarell revealed Larry’s message on Twitter.

“Larry Nance Jr. gave a personalized note along with a bottle of wine for every member of Cleveland’s front office before he left. He also said, “Thank you for rescuing me from LA.” per Altman.

As revealed by Evan, it is quite obvious that Nance Jr. is yet to forgive the Lakers for how they treated him. The next chapter of his career will feature him facing off against the purple and gold even more since the two teams are in the same conference.

His stint with the Cavs was short, but at least the 28-year-old enjoyed it. The Cavaliers are clearly planning to let young players take over the team, and Nance Jr. might not fit well with that plan.

In his role with the Blazers, he will try to aid the star duo of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum to make a deep playoff run. The Blazers are one of the better teams in the West, but they still lack a piece or two to elevate them to a championship level.

Along with their franchise superstar Damian Lillard, they quite clearly need another superstar-level player who can help him in taking the franchise to the next level. For now, at least, they are bolstering their bench with the addition of Larry Nance Jr.
