Klay Thompson To Draymond Green After Shooting The Ball Up By 3 With 15 Seconds Left: “Dog, They Pay Me To Shoot The Ball.”

There’s no denying that Klay Thompson is one of the biggest characters around the league. While not often outspoken, he’s just a laidback, down-to-earth kind of guy that seems chill all the time.

But don’t let that easygoing attitude fool you. Thompson has proven to be a stud when it matters the most. He’s got a strong personality, courage, and will never back down from a challenge.

That was in full display several years ago during a close game. With the game on the line and only up 3, Thompson didn’t hesitate to try and knock down a three-pointer, even though it wasn’t the safest bet he could’ve made:

“One game, we were up 3 with 15 seconds left and somebody threw the ball to Klay. At this point, you just hold the ball. As soon as it touches his hands, Klay shoots it. Draymond was like, “What were you doing? Why would you shoot that?” Klay said, “Dog, they pay me to shoot the ball,” Festus Ezeli told The Athletic in an interview about Thompson.

Hey, that’s Klay Thompson 101 right there. That’s just who he is and how he handles himself and, to be fair, it’s paid off big time thus far.

Also, if someone’s going to take a last-second three-pointer, then it better be Klay Thompson, one of the greatest shooters to ever grace the Earth.

The Warriors sure need someone like Thompson to take some pressure off Stephen Curry’s shoulders and also bring the most out of Draymond Green’s playmaking ability.

Not having their all-time great duo in the backcourt has clearly hurt the Warriors’ chances over the past couple of years, as they haven’t even made the playoffs without him.

Hopefully, Klay will be back to his old self after his two-year spell on the sidelines. The game sure misses him.
