2 Min Read

Kobe Bryant was one of the most athletic players in the history of the NBA. While Bryant was slightly undersized when compared to some of the other freak athletes in the NBA, Bryant more than made up for it with his ability to take the ball to the rim. Bryant has had so many iconic dunks through the course of his career.

Bryant found great success in the league thanks to his elite athleticism, winning multiple titles, and becoming a perennial All-Star through his near 20-year career. But it turns out, Bryant was a great athlete even before he entered the league in 1996.

A video of Kobe Bryant in high school participating in a dunk contest shows that he has always had this elite athleticism and ability to dunk the basketball. And on top of that, he had some pretty cool dance moves. In the video below, Bryant shows off his dunking abilities.

After dunking the ball with an amazing spin move, Bryant jumped to the floor and started to shimmy. The rest of the dunk contest saw Bryant up the ante with each dunk becoming more ridiculous than the other. At one point, Bryant even jumped over two other people to take the ball to the hoop.

Kobe’s dunking abilities are just one of the many things that made him an elite high school stand out. Bryant became only the sixth high school star to forgo the collegiate game and make the jump directly to the NBA. Bryant went on to play for the Lakers for his entire career.

Bryant, for many fans, is considered the greatest Laker of all time. He played with the franchise for 20 years, winning an MVP title in 2008 and won five NBA championships, including two Finals MVPs in 2009 and 2010.
