NBA Rumors: Golden State Warriors Would Only Trade All Assets For One “Unavailable” Player

The Golden State Warriors notably stayed put on the trade front during the 2021 NBA draft, selecting Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody with their lottery picks. It seems as though the organization has picked the path of developing younger talent around Stephen Curry, and trying to improve from within.

Despite the fact that the Warriors didn’t execute trade during the draft, a star trade could be possible in the future. Kendra Andrews of NBC Sports has recently revealed that the Golden State Warriors would be willing to give up all their assets for one specific player, though no names were given. The article also mentions that the player is currently unavailable. While we don’t know for sure who the player is, Andrews speculated that Bradley Beal could be that mystery player.

The Warriors have been subject to rumors of trading away Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, their two 2021 lottery picks — Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody — and possibly even future draft picks. But sources within the Golden State organization told NBC Sports Bay Area that there is only one player they’d be willing to give all of that away for. And that player isn’t even available yet.

No particular name was mentioned, but it’s hard not to assume Washington Wizards star shooting guard Bradley Beal is the aforementioned player. Beal would be a logical addition to the Warrior, and would be someone who could help get them back on top of the Western Conference, if not the NBA. But Beal has denied wanting a trade out of Washington.

We can eliminate some options from the list. The Golden State Warriors notably refused to give up their assets for 3-time All-Star Ben Simmons, and it is likely that they’re looking for more offensive help after last season. While the Golden State Warriors already have a trio of stars in Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, trading for this mystery star would likely help their chances, and it is possible that we’ll figure out who it is in the future.
