Everybody’s entitled to their opinions and no one should tell any other person what to do. Then again, given the actual context, we can all agree that some opinions will raise a lot of controversies.
That’s the case with Utah Jazz legend John Stockton, who recently made the public eye for his comments and appearance in an anti-vaxx documentary called Covid and the Vaccine: Truth, Lies And Misconceptions Revealed.
Stockton talked against lockdown and restrictions and how it could prevent us from watching the next Stephen Curry:
Other than John Stockton, this documentary features an all-star team of old school antivaxxers. RFK Jr., Del Bigtree, Andrew Wakefield.
It's a 9-part series and I am absolutely not watching it. Have fun! pic.twitter.com/A4p6ni4IF2

“This isn’t a virus cheating us of this opportunity and the guys making decisions are saying ‘No no, we’re too scared. We gotta shut everything down, sit at home and be careful.’ My kids and my grandkids are hearing these things and accepting them as truth. I know by my significant amount of research that it isn’t and it’s very frustrating,” Stockton said.
Needless to say, Stockton’s words got a lot of negative attention around social media, with multiple NBA fans stating that they were glad that he never won a ring and that Michael Jordan beat him.

Once again, we believe in freedom of speech and that everyone’s entitled to his opinion, but when you’re a celebrity, everything you say or do can have a huge impact on those who look up to you.
Stockton decided to make the most of his platform to advocate for something that may not be in the best interest of those who listened. Still, thousands of people share his views and they’re not likely to change their minds all of a sudden.
