Rick Carlisle is known well for his time with the Dallas Mavericks. Carlisle is a championship-winning coach who won alongside superstar Dirk Nowitzki in 2011. There is no doubt that he has a solid reputation.
The Dallas Mavericks were eliminated in the first round once again this season, and it seems as though both the franchise and the coach needed a change. Recently, NBA inside Adrian Wojnarowski has revealed that Carlisle will not be returning to his position with the Dallas Mavericks next season.
Rick Carlisle — who led Dallas to the 2011 NBA championship — informed Mavericks owner Mark Cuban today that he won't be returning as coach next season, Carlisle told ESPN. Carlisle had two years left on his contract. He spent 13 seasons as Mavericks coach.

Adrian Wojnarowski also revealed that Rick Carlisle will be a “prominent candidate” for other coaching positions, and there are plenty of franchises that have parted with their head coach after this season, including the Washington Wizards and the Boston Celtics.

Tim Macmahon reported that Luka Doncic is supportive of assistant coach Jamahl Mosley and that Doncic has claimed: “he can be the head coach, for sure.”

Mark Cuban stated his good wishes to Rick Carlisle and claimed that he is a good friend on a personal level, while also saying that their relationship goes beyond basketball.

Hopefully, Carlisle will have a coaching job sooner rather than later. You don’t necessarily win the 2011 NBA championship by being a bad coach, and the winning pedigree is there. Any team that wants a solid head coach with a lot of experience, should definitely take a look at Rick Carlisle.
