NBA Rumors: Alex Rodriguez Wants To Move The Minnesota Timberwolves To Seattle

Alex Rodriguez will be the new face of the Minnesota Timberwolves after he and his partner Marc Lore have purchased the franchise from Glen Taylor for $1.5 billion. The Minnesota Timberwolves have been an underperforming franchise ever since Kevin Garnett left the fold.

With Rodriguez purchasing the Minnesota Timberwolves, there has been a lot of talk from NBA fans about Rodgriguez potentially moving the franchise to a more favorable city. There are some rumors that suggest that that eventuality could happen. Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press has recently reported that there is “buzz” about a potential move to Seattle once Rodriguez fully takes control of the club.

There’s buzz now that Kevin Garnett, who is said to be worth more than $200 million, will be heavily involved in the Timberwolves basketball department if he joins franchise investors Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore if/when they gain full control in 2023. The word is Garnett, the ex-Timberwolf, wants the franchise to remain in Minnesota but Rodriguez wants to move it to Seattle, where he played for seven seasons.

While Kevin Garnett may not want the franchise to leave Minnesota, seeing basketball come back to Seattle would be historic. It remains to be seen whether there’s any truth to the rumors, but even if there is some credibility there, the relocation process would take quite some time.
