Kendrick Perkins Believes The Philadelphia 76ers Will Be A Second Round Exit If They Don’t Have Joel Embiid

The Philadelphia 76ers have hit a tough spot in the playoffs, as their superstar center Joel Embiid has recently been diagnosed with a knee injury. That injury could keep Joel Embiid out in the near future, and he has already been categorized as “doubtful” for Game 5. Without their superstar, the 76ers will have to figure out new ways to win.

Kendrick Perkins has recently stated that if the Philadelphia 76ers do not have Joel Embiid in the second round, they will lose to the Atlanta Hawks, who will likely make it out of the first round. Trae Young has been torturing the New York Knicks defense all series, and he could potentially do the same to the Philadelphia 76ers, despite the latter having a DPOY candidate in Ben Simmons.

Joel Embiid will be doubful for Game 5, sources tell ESPN. He had an MRI on his right knee today, and is expected to be evaluated further in next day.

If Embiid is still hurt in the second round the 76ers need to prepare to book there flights to Cabo because the Hawks are going to beat them! Carry on… https://t.co/Iis7QfytQI

There isn’t a doubt that the Philadelphia 76ers are a talented team, even without Joel Embiid. Ben Simmons is a player who can guard any position on defense while providing amazing playmaking and scoring at the rim on the offensive end. Tobias Harris is an extremely capable shot creator and came extremely close to making the 50/40/90 club this season.

Despite their talent, it seems as though Kendrick Perkins has his doubts on the Philadelphia 76ers without Joel Embiid. The potential of a Trae Young vs Joel Embiid series is certainly exciting, and all we can do now is hope for a healthy Embiid in the second round.
