Luka Doncic On Rematch With Marcus Morris: “He’s A Hell Of A Player, Hell Of A Defender. Trash Talk Is Always There, And If It’s Not, You’re Not Really Competing. It’s Going To Be Great.”

Luka Doncic and his Dallas Mavericks will face the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the 2021 NBA playoffs in a rematch of 2020. Back in the bubble, these two squads clashed in the same round, with Luka trying to lead his team to the next stage.

The Slovenian player made some incredible plays during that series, including a game-winning 3-pointer. However, he was also involved in some controversies during those duels. He was insulted by Montrezl Harrell and Marcus Morris made some dirty plays that didn’t sit well with Doncic and the rest of the NBA.

They will face each other in the postseason and the Slovenian apparently doesn’t have a problem with the twin brother. The 22-year-old recently praised Morris, saying he was a great player and a big competitor, so it was expected that things got a little heated.

“He’s a hell of a player, hell of a defender. Trash talk is always there, and if it’s not, you’re not really competing. It’s going to be great,” Doncic said, via Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Luka Doncic eagerly anticipates more heated competition with Marcus Morris Sr. in this series: "He's a hell of a player, hell of a defender. Trash talk is always there, and if it’s not, you’re not really competing. It’s going to be great." https://t.co/4FFg3fS1x6

Doncic has received plenty of criticism this season after complaining more than necessary to the referees and using controversial techniques to draw fouls. That said, NBA fans are ready to see this rematch between the Mavs and Clips, with Luka and Marcus going at it just like they did in the bubble.

The Clippers have a lot to prove this campaign, while Doncic will try to show he’s ready to take the next step with the Texan team.
