Draymond Green is one of the best defenders in the league and is someone whose defensive impact goes beyond the box score. Draymond Green is an elite help defender and is the anchor for the Golden State Warriors’ defense. Draymond Green may not be at his peak anymore, but he is a more than capable defensive presence.

Zion Williamson is an unstoppable force. He can score almost at will inside the paint, and for that reason, he is viewed as one of the most promising prospects of the modern era. After his matchup against Draymond Green, Zion Williamson was asked about Green as a defender. An article by Drew Shiller detailed Zion Williamson’s words and has even revealed that Williamson asked Green some questions as Williamson is still learning the game.

He has a high IQ for the game. He’s a great basketball player. He knows where to take his reaches, when to be physical without drawing the foul.

I got a lot of respect for him.

I was asking him a couple questions because I’m always trying to learn the game myself. I got a lot of respect for him.

He’s physical with IQ, and a lot of people don’t do that. But he does.

Draymond Green is certainly a defender that garners respect around the league, and it seems as though Zion Williamson is the most recent player that has stated their high opinion on Green’s defensive impact. Zion Williamson is clearly high on Draymond Green’s basketball IQ. If Williamson can implement some of Draymond Green’s defense in his own game, then the New Orleans Pelicans will benefit greatly.
