Anthony Davis Wants The Lakers To Play Better: “We Have To Start Playing With A Sense Of Desperation.”

Anthony Davis knows the Los Angeles Lakers are a team that can give a lot more than they have so far but his absence and LeBron James’ haven’t helped the team in recent times. The Brow just returned to the lineup last week and the Lakers have won only one of the past four games they have played.

They went from being the 2nd best team in the Western Conference to rank 5th now and people believe that if they don’t step up, they could keep going down on the standings, which would be really bad for a team that was expected to win the championship before the start of the season.

Davis is well aware of that and he sent a big message to his teammates after the Lakers lost to the inspired Washington Wizards on Wednesday. We are entering the last month of competition and if they want to finish the regular season the best way, it’s time to play as if every game was the last one.

“We control our own destiny,” Davis told reporters on a postgame video conference. “So we have to start playing with a sense of desperation, even though we are in the playoffs as of right now. But we’re not that far off from being in play-in games. So we’ve got to play with a sense of desperation, as well.”

AD has been improving his level in recent games. He scored 14 points in the 4th quarter against the Wizards, finishing the night with 26. If he can lead this team while LeBron James is out, the Lakers will be fine. However, everybody needs to make an effort to start winning the games they need to win if they aspire to compete in the playoffs and defend their NBA championship.
