After trading much of their veteran core, the Orlando Magic are on the surface level of a massive rebuilding project that will likely have them in the Eastern Conference bunker for years.
Still, spirits remain high throughout the organization, and their social media has done a good job at generating excitement about their young players.
Unfortunately, the Magic made a costly mistake online, prompting the team’s Twitter account to become the scene of a massive roast session by fans.
See, in one particular post, the team wrote about their high defensive rating of 113.4, which happens to be the highest in team history. Of course, that’s not exactly a good thing, as having a high defensive rating is attributed to having poor defense.

Whether a mistake by the social media team or simply an oversight on their part about how the fans would react, the twitter-world was not very kind in their response.

This is broke two ways. They ask what season they had the highest while saying what season, and they also expose themselves for not knowing high def rating is bad

Counterpoint: It's brilliant. Anyone who's on twitter and understands defensive rating is rooting for the tank, at this point. 😂😇

The tweet has since been deleted, though fans have continued with the jokes in other Tweets.
As for the prognosis of the team this season, things don’t look very good. Without Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier, and Nikola Vucevic, they don’t have any hope of making the playoffs.
For now, all they can do is develop their young guys and hope for better days ahead.
