Steph Curry Lauds LeBron James After Warriors’ Loss To Lakers: “LeBron Can Be A Playmaker A Lot Of Different Ways.”

The Golden State Warriors have been the most inconsistent team in the league this season and it’s not even close. One day they beat the league-leading Utah Jazz and the next, they’re getting 30-pieced by the Los Angeles Lakers. There’s no in-between.

That’s why Stephen Curry has been vocally frustrated with the team’s poor efforts, especially in the defensive end, especially after their most recent slide:

“The secondary rotation was a little late, and they made us pay. We talked about it before, it was the exact opposite of last night. Where you have to protect the three-point line against Utah if you’re going to win. And this is a 180, you have to protect the paint. They have shooters but you got to protect the paint if you want to build momentum because they try to get easy buckets and they did,” Steph said.

Then again, Curry gave credit where credit was due, lauding the Los Angeles Lakers for the way they’ve played defense all year, and praising LeBron James for his playmaking ability:

“That’s one of their strong suits. The numbers are crazy, but they have done it well all year. They have enough shooting that they can space you out. LeBron can be a playmaker a lot of different ways. Montrezl was amazing tonight. Put pressure on us down low. I don’t know how much of it was off of offensive rebounds, but the rotation was there,” the two-time MVP concluded.

There’s always been a mutual respect between Curry and LeBron and is nice to see how they’re shutting down that petty narrative of them not getting along. At the end of the day, they’re both competitors but they can also acknowledge when the other has been the superior player and his team didn’t get the job done.
