Al Horford has done some impressive things on the court but he’s also a very successful man off the court. The big man is now part of the young Oklahoma City Thunder team, a very different team compared to the ones he played on in the last 4 or 5 years.
Horford’s career has suffered some changes and now he’s acting like a mentor for the young Thunder team but that doesn’t mean people forget what he did in the past. For instance, the broadcasters of the New York Knicks remember very well all the good things the Dominican player has done in the association. On Saturday, Mike Breen praised Horford for his good career and recalled all the honors he’s collected over the years.
However, Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier had more things to say and pointed out at Al’s wife as the biggest reason he admires the Dominican player.
Mike Breen: “Al Horford is a 5-time All-Star, All-NBA player. All-NBA Third Team back in 2011.”
Clyde Frazier: “That’s not what I admire about him,”
Mike: “Why don’t you tell us again, Clyde?”
Clyde: “He married Miss Universe.”
In case you don’t know, Horford is married to Amelia Vega, a Dominican model and actress who won the Miss Universe contest in 2003, becoming the first Dominican woman to win the competition. She married Horford eight years later, in 2011, and have four children together.

Vega is a very beautiful woman, a successful businesswoman, and one of the most important figures in his country. No wonder Frazier has such a big admiration for Horford and the life he has with the 36-year-old.
After playing with the Boston Celtics from 2016 through 2019, Horford had a tumultuous tenure with the Philadelphia 76ers that ended up with him getting traded to the Thunder, where he currently plays.
