Ben Simmons Says He Hasn’t Seen Anyone Who Can Stop Joel Embiid

Joel Embiid has had a stellar season so far, being one of the favorites for the MVP award this year. Joel Embiid is currently averaging 29.3 PPG and 10.7 RPG while leading the 76ers to the 1st seed in the Eastern Conference. Joel Embiid is having a stellar season as coach Doc Rivers is running the offense through him, and letting him dominate in the post.

His teammate, Ben Simmons has recognized how dominant Joel Embiid has been. Tim Bontemps of ESPN reported about Ben Simmons’ comments. Simmons praised Embiid and has stated that Embiid realizes just how good he is.

Ben Simmons on Joel Embiid: “I think he realizes how dominant he is down there (in the low post).” Says he hasn’t seen anyone capable of stopping Embiid.

Ben Simmons is just saying out loud what most people can tell: Joel Embiid is unstoppable once he gets inside the paint. His bruising bully-ball game is elite, and he knows how to dominate inside. Embiid has looked unguardable this season, and Simmons states that no-one can stop Joel Embiid. That is entirely true: despite facing double teams all season, Joel Embiid has found a way to dominate no matter which defenders stand in his ways.

If Joel Embiid can keep this dominance into the playoffs, the Philadelphia 76ers may be contending for a championship. They’re one of the favorites to make the Finals, and their roster is championship caliber. Joel Embiid will be the key factor in determining how far they go during the postseason.
