Derrick Rose When He Gets Traded To The Knicks: “They’re Saying Us And The Nets Are The Superteams.”

NBA fans always find something to joke about and NBA rumors seem to be one of their favorites. This season has been filled with some blockbuster moves that shocked everybody and that doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.

In recent hours, we’ve learned that Derrick Rose is “close” to get traded to the New York Knicks in a reunion with his former coach on the Chicago Bulls Tom Thibodeau and the NBA community is ready to see the point guard returning to New York. Moreover, this didn’t stop some fans from making jokes and one of them delivered a very good one regarding the other team in New York, the Brooklyn Nets.

After the James Harden trade, they have a Big 3, a superteam, or how you want to call it, but Legion Hoops joked saying that the Knicks will join that trend when they acquired Rose via trade.

“Derrick Rose when he gets traded to the Knicks: ‘They’re saying us and the Nets are the superteams.'”

Back in 2016, Rose said the Knicks were a superteam when he arrived in New York for his first stint with the Knickerbockers. He compared the 2016 Knicks with the Golden State Warriors, suggesting that people believed the Dubs and Knicks were exactly that, “superteams.”

“I still believe that. Like I said, with that Super Team term, you have to be very careful, I guess, if you’re in the United States. But I feel like if you’re in any team in the NBA — it don’t have to be the NBA, it could be the college level, high school level — you should believe in yourself and have the confidence in yourself that you’re playing on a super team anywhere. So I have a lot of confidence, and I’m not taking that back,” he said, via Ian Begley.

However, that didn’t stop fans from reacting to the tweet and criticizing it, not remembering that D-Rose made a very similar and questionable take on the Knicks 5 years ago.

They should get Drose, Melo, and Stoudemire. Have a 2010 contender.

— Micah Crutchfield (@micah1097) February 7, 2021

Lol he said the same thing about them in 2016

Knicks>Nets

Curiously, Kevin Durant was part of those Warriors and now he’s part of these Nets. It remains to be seen how they will fare this season given the good young core they have. The Knicks have everything to be successful in the future but if they land Rose this campaign, their level will increase. Yet, it’s still unclear what they’re willing to give in exchange for the 2011 NBA MVP.
