Ja Morant is one of the most exciting players in recent memory. His jaw-dropping athleticism and his ability to think on the fly have dazzled Memphis fans and other fans alike. Ja Morant just finds a way to win: the Grizzlies are currently 4th in the Western Conference and Ja Morant is a key part in their continuing hunt for the playoffs. Ja Morant still has a long way to go until he’s considered among the top players in the league, but his ascension as a scoring and playmaking force for the Grizzlies has been amazing.
One of the people who are full of praise for Ja Morant is Kendrick Perkins, an NBA analyst. Perkins has stated that he thought that Ja Morant should have been in consideration for being the #1 pick during the 2019 NBA Draft instead of Zion Williamson:
2 summers ago I sat at @rachel__nichols desk on the Jump and insisted that Ja Morant be considered for the #1 overall pick. That kid is a superstar, a culture builder and a winner! Carry on…

Ja Morant is clearly a future star if he isn’t considered one already: he is currently averaging 20.7 PPG and 7.7 APG, both career bests. He is everything that the Grizzlies had hoped he’d become: Morant is confident in himself and will try just about anything on the court if it means that his team gets wins. Ja Morant can create for himself and his teammates, and his scoring will only improve as he continues to gain experience in the NBA.
Ja Morant is clearly one of the point guards of the future. Morant is ready to make some noise in the Western Conference, and the Memphis Grizzlies will follow his lead, to wherever he’ll take them.
