NBA Executives Reveal How Much The Wizards Could Ask In A Bradley Beal Trade

2 Min Read

Bradley Beal’s name is one of the hottest around the league right now as the shooting guard has grown frustrated with the Washington Wizards and their inability to win this campaign. The player has been linked with several teams over the past couple of weeks and even though he’s expressed his desire to remain with the team, not everybody thinks he’s telling the truth.

During a recent edition of the HoopsHype podcast, Mike Scotto and Fret Katz of HoopsHype discussed the possibility of Beal getting traded from the Wizards and what would take for the capital team to let the shooting guard go to a different team. They talked with a couple of executives around the league and “draft picks” was a very common response.

“One exec said, ‘A whole bunch of picks, and I think they could try to have another team take a bad contract with him as well. I think it’d be somewhere between the Jrue Holiday and Harden trades. Harden was an MVP scoring champ in terms of talent. He (Beal) is in between both of them.”

Another exec said, ‘If you look at the last couple of trades, depending on the players going back, I’d imagine two or three first-round picks and potentially pick swaps as well.’

Teams like the Warriors, Sixers, Heat and even Lakers have been linked with a move for Beal in recent days. It’s unclear if the Wizards will entertain the idea of trading their best player away. If they do, that won’t come easy for anybody trying to get a big player like Beal.
