Vernon Maxwell Says That Hakeem Olajuwon Is The Rockets GOAT, Not James Harden

James Harden made his name as an All-Star and an MVP during his time with the Houston Rockets. He was traded to Houston by the Oklahoma City Thunder and went from an elite sixth man to an All-Star. Needless to say, James Harden is a legend within the Houston organization. Harden is one of the people that spent most of their prime playing for the Houston Rockets and of course, he is probably in considerations for being one of the greatest players to ever suit up for the Rockets.

Vernon Maxwell is a player that was part of Hakeem Olajuwon’s two title runs, and he has some strong words to say to fans who think that James Harden has become the Rockets GOAT. In his tweet, Vernon Maxwell sets the record straight.

I like James Harden and I know some of you young bucks were trying to make the argument but this isn’t up for discussion. Dream is the H-TOWN goat. Unfollow me if you think otherwise.

Scoring 40, 50 points a game is great but did your team win?

Vernon Maxwell blasts fans who think that James Harden has become the Rockets GOAT. One of his further tweets seems to clarify why: James Harden hasn’t won a championship. Sure, Harden put up mindboggling statistics and broke regular-season records. But he didn’t win a championship for Houston, while Hakeem Olajuwon won two. While Harden may be a better regular-season player, but Hakeem Olajuwon has shown it all in the playoffs and won one of his rings against Shaquille O’Neal.

While James Harden is an elite player and definitely an all-time great for the Rockets, he hasn’t won as much in Houston as Hakeem Olajuwon. It seems that Vernon Maxwell’s argument against Harden is straight forward. Hopefully, James Harden can win now that he has left to the Brooklyn Nets to team up with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
