Rudy Gobert and the Utah Jazz have extended their relationship for five more years. The French big man has been one of the best in his position for the past couple of years and the team still sees him as a big part of their present and future.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Tim McMahon broke the news about Gobert’s extension, which will pay him $205 million for five years, the biggest contract in NBA history for a big man.

Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has agreed to a five-year, $205M extension, @ESPN_MacMahon reports. Jazz’s two cornerstones — Gobert and Donovan Mitchell — are now under contract on long term deals. https://t.co/AELJdGiYKC

After he tested positive for COVID-19 and made the league suspended the season, Gobert was linked with a lot of moves around the league. Some reports suggested his relationship with Donovan Mitchell was unsalvageable but it looks like they have fixed their problems now.

Via ESPN:

“It means that they believe in me,” Gobert told ESPN. “They believe in what we’ve been building over the years with this whole organization, with coach [Quin Snyder] and all the guys. For me, it’s an incredible blessing. It’s a very motivating feeling to know that we all share the same vision and we all share this goal for this state and for this franchise.”

The two biggest stars of the team are now attached for the future and the Jazz will try to win it all with the guard and the center having a key role in their title aspirations.
