LeBron James Jokes About His Teammate Marc Gasol: “Marc Has My Defensive Player Of The Year Trophy At His House, But That’s Nor Here Nor There. I Love You, Marc, I Can’t Wait To Talk About This.”

The Los Angeles Lakers landed a very good player last week in Marc Gasol. The Spanish big man is not the same All-Star player he used to be but he can still bring a lot of good things to the table for these Lakers. He is a great addition and will surely help the team play for meaningful things but LeBron James doesn’t seem to be completely over his dispute with Gasol and the 2013 DPOY award.

On a recent episode of Road Trippin’, LeBron reminded everybody that he’s not happy with the result of the 2012/13 NBA Defensive Player of the Year voting. That year Gasol won the award while playing for the Memphis Grizzlies.

“Marc has my Defensive Player of the Year trophy at his house, but that’s nor here nor there. I love you, Marc, I can’t wait to talk about this,” LeBron said.

Bron is still missing this award in his collection but it seems like he’s still pushing to win that prize. Even though he had a very short period to rest after winning the 2020 NBA championship in the bubble, LeBron is ready to give more responsibilities to Anthony Davis on the offensive end so he can focus mostly on defense. He did a great job last season and perhaps this is the one where Bron finally gets his revenge and wins this award.

Moreover, when talking about Pau Gasol, James didn’t close the door to that possibility, just saying “we’ll see” when asked about the possibility of seeing the Gasol brothers on the Lakers for the next season.
