League Executive Says Chris Paul Would “Love” To Come Back To Los Angeles: “I Know It Would Be A Dream Come True For Chris. I Know LeBron Loves And Trusts Him, And He Would Be A Good Fit.”

Despite their off-court friendship, LeBron James and Chris Paul have never been able to call each other teammates in the many years they’ve spent playing in the NBA.

But, according to what one NBA executive told Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus and Shams Charania, that could change.

On the topic of Paul joining his friend LeBron in Los Angeles, Pincus described a mutual interest on the part of both players.

With Davis now planning to opt out and re-sign with L.A. this summer, as first reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, it begs the question, whom will LeBron bring to the Lakers next? Some league execs point to one of his old Banana Boat buddies as the final piece to LeBron’s Laker dynasty puzzle.

“Chris Paul would love to come back to L.A. I know it would be a dream come true for Chris,” an Eastern Conference executive said. “I know LeBron loves and trusts him and he would be a good fit.”

Just my thoughts on the topic and again, here's the article on LeBron, Klutch and the Lakers return to power – and what could be next, especially if we take that thread to one possible extreme: https://t.co/v5cSn9X2LB

Paul, 35, is coming off a respectable tenure in Oklahoma City, where he averaged 17 points, 6.7 assists, and 5 rebounds per game on 48% shooting. Behind his leadership, the Thunder earned the 5th seed in the West after finishing with an impressive 44-28 record.

Despite Paul’s hefty contract ($80+ million over the next two seasons), his court vision, passing ability, and scoring capabilities would be a welcome addition to the Lakers.

And for LeBron, having one of his best friends join him for a second straight Championship has to be a pretty good deal.

Nevertheless, it will be up to Rob Pelinka and the front-office to make the next move.
