Even though the vast majority of NBA fans don’t see his achievements with the same eyes, Kevin Durant is proud of all the things he did with the Golden State Warriors from 2016 through 2019. KD signed with the Dubs in 2016 after losing to them in the WCF that season, a move that was highly criticized around the NBA community and even today, fans tend to call KD names for joining the team that beat him the prior season.

A lot of people consider he joined the Warriors to take the easy way to win a championship. During a recent appearance on JJ Redick’s’ ‘The Old Man and the Three’ podcast, Durant dismissed those comments, claiming he earned all those titles with his performances.

“No. What does that even mean?

I just never understood what that means, because I still come to work every day. I go through every rep at 100 percent speed. So, I just don’t understand that,” KD said, via NBC Sports.

And I played at an elite level in the Finals in all the biggest moments. And I could understood if I didn’t play well at all. But I played the best that I could play in both Finals for that team. So, I felt like I got up every day and held myself to a championship, elite-player standard and reached it pretty much 98 percent of the time in practice and games and shootarounds.

So, yeah, of course, I earned that.”

KD left the Oklahoma City Thunder that year, earning a lot of criticism but he doesn’t seem too worried about it. Durantula went there, worked and won two rings, having outstanding performances. Some people say his titles don’t count since he joined three All-Stars to win them, but KD balled his way out to the glory during his days in Golden State.

Now he’s part of the Brooklyn Nets and will try to show everybody can lead a team to the title and that his championships in the Bay didn’t land just because he played with three monsters.
