Kevin Durant and CJ McCollum are now engaged in beef after KD had an appearance on McCollum’s ‘Pull Up’ podcast. The pair talked about several topics in 2018, including KD’s infamous decision to join the Golden State Warriors in 2016 after being eliminated by the same team the prior season.
During that interview, KD told McCollum he could be the perfect sixth man on a championship team, calling him a ‘Jason Terry 4.0 type of player’. CJ disagreed with that, claiming he wouldn’t abandon his ‘starter rights’ to win a championship. Instead, he’d try to win with he has and that’s it.
“So you wouldn’t want to do that on a winner?” asked Durant.
“Define a winner,” said McCollum. “I’m winning now. I’ve made the playoffs five straight years.”
“That’s a crazy mindset to have,” added Durant.
“What are you insinuating? You want me to come play for the Warriors for $5 million?”

After that, the pair exchanged some jabs on Twitter, with McCollum saying KD’s move to Golden State was soft and Durant replying as he only knows.
I still think the b word is harsh and shouldn’t be used. . He know that decision was soft but I respect it. It’s like getting jumped with ur brothers by a gang you should’ve beat then joining the gang that jumped u and ur brothers 2 months later & forgetting about your bros https://t.co/BFGqQy1lwR

They didn’t agree on the definition of what a real winner is but both players have valid points. There are many ways to win and some are sweeter than others. It’s up for fans to decide which one they prefer.
