Damian Lillard is clearly on a mission right now. He’s bringing the best of his game to lead the Portland Trail Blazers back to the playoffs, and some even think Portland could be a nightmare matchup for the Los Angeles Lakers, should they meet in the first round.
Lillard has become one of the deadliest scorers in the league. He’s prolific from all three levels and his outspoken and contagious leadership has truly turned the Blazers into a dark horse out of the Western Conference, even despite his doubters.
As a matter of fact, Undisputed’s Shannon Sharpe went on to claim that he’d choose Lillard ahead any Eastern Conference player not named Giannis Antetokounmpo, in contrast to what his colleague Skip Bayless seemed to think about him:
“I would take Dame over everyone in the East besides Giannis, and if KD is playing, Dame is the 3rd best player. He would be the best point guard even if Kyrie was playing. There’s nothing Dame can’t do,” Sharpe said.

In fact, Sharpe went as far as to take a slight shot at Joel Embiid because of his stomach issues and proneness to get hurt, doubling-down on his take and claiming that Lillard could dominate in the Eastern Conference:
“Only a baby has more stomach problems than Joel Embiid! But what do your eyes tell you about Dame Dolla Bill? He the real deal!” Sharpe added.

Even so, this is nothing but wishful thinking. Lillard is by no means going to leave the Blazers any time soon, so the only chance he’ll have to dominate Eastern Conference teams will be if he makes it to the NBA Finals.
